Liz Berg Band
Rock
Singer/Songwriter
Illinois
The Liz Berg Band is intellectual rock with a female voice. We have the training to sound sophisticated and the flexibility to sound punky or alternative--depending on the needs of the venue. Berg also performs solo.
After years as a decorated guitarist, Liz Berg began
her emergence as a stand-out vocalist and songwriter in 1997. Since then she has given close to 1,000 performances between Los Angeles, London, and her hometown Chicago. She has been recognized in print media that includes The Chicago Tribune, The Chicago Sun - Times, Berwyn Gazette, Suburban Life, and Landmark newspapers.
A highly versatile persona, Berg has hosted her own radio show, acted in many feature films, created and taught classes in Song-writing and Rock and Roll History, and has been a visible teacher and jobbing musician in Los Angeles and Chicago. Although Berg has been recognized in many roles, she perceives the role of songwriter as the most important. Berg's 2003 indie release, Not the Same was a declaration of independence and non-conformitythemes and sold in more than 3 different countries. Berg writes and co-produces 100% of her recordings, is fluent on 5 musical instruments, and is also a noted studio back-up vocalist.

Berg received a classical guitar scholarship from Roosevelt University in Chicago, IL and has also won awards for her jazz guitar playing.
Berg went on the road in June 2007 with U2 Tribute Band, VertigoUSA, as the substitute bass player.
Berg is also the recipient of a hair endorsement deal from one of the leading salons in the Chicago Suburbs, Basili's.
Berg's biggest influences are the Police, Beatles, U2, Concrete Blonde, and Tori Amos.
Berg is known for intense and energetic solo/acoustic performances as well that have drawn comparisons to KT Tunstall and Melissa Etheridge. Her intense songwriting has also evoked comparisons to Patti Smith.
